Wells Fargo outsources to Philippines

 

The ongoing political debate in the US government will disallow the outsourcing of back office jobs in the Philippines. This situation made the Filipinos improve their call center facility in the country.

The present BPO facility in McKinley Hill Cyberpark in Taguig City was established by US-based Wells Fargo & Co. The company plans for its expansion to further improve their customer services.

They can accommodate 180 team members; with their ongoing expansion about 500 seats will now be served. According to Wells Fargo Philippines Solutions communications manager Theresa Lariosa, a two-level building will be fully utilized by the end of the year. They are also proposing another 1,500 seated building which will be constructed in Megaworld site and it is expected to finish by 2013. Wells Fargo & Company’ success will bring120,000 BOP Jobs.

Philippines had employed 450,000 workers in BPO industries. India is now on the top place when it comes to BPO add-on services such as IT, engineering and animation. The credit card needs of US bank will be provided by Wells Fargo in the Philippines.

The Philippine government expects 1.3 million Filipinos will be hired by BPO firms and $25 billion will be earned by 2016. Amidst this situation, the Aquino administration will continue to support the local BPO industry by providing trainings and seminars to college graduates to help them enter the BPO industry.
